"You think I'm gonna spend your cash I won't," Cordelia sang. "Even if you were broke - my love don't cost a thing." Drying her hands and hanging up her towel, she flicked off the radio mid-song. She wasn't going to admit to singing along with a Jennifer Lopez song - even if it was just her soundtrack to washing dishes.

As she entered her living room, ready to settle down for a night of popcorn and cheesy movies, something made her stop. Turning instinctively towards the window, she paused, listening carefully until she heard a rustling noise from outside. Grabbing the poker from beside the fire, she put her hand on the door key and twisted it slowly. Waiting a few seconds to check she hadn't been heard, she tightened her grip on both the poker and the door handle, before flinging the door open.

"Alright, before we go any further, you should know that I'm not afraid to use this."

"Shit, Cordy, you almost gave me a heart attack!"

Cordelia stared at the person in front of her. "Faith?!"

"In the flesh."

"And I gave *you* a heart attack?!"

Faith eyed the poker warily. "You gonna point that thing at me all night, or are you going to let me in?"

"Hmm, let's see," Cordy responded dryly, not lowering her weapon an inch. "Shall I let the psychotic murderous bitch who attacked me last time we met into my home?" She shrugged her shoulders, and then her face hardened. "I'm thinking not."

Faith sighed. "Guess I should have been expecting that. But come on, Cor - I just got out, I need a place."

"And you figured my place would be the place? In fact - here's an interesting topic - why *are* you out? Don't psychotic murderous bitches usually get more than a year inside?"

"Council have been keeping an eye on me. They decided I wasn't a liability, and then Buffy went and got all dead. Figured they needed an active Slayer."

"And you just walked right out? No big escape - you're not a fugitive, are you?"

"Yeah, my face is being plastered on billboards as we speak." Faith snorted. "You think I'd have come to you if I was a fugitive? First thing you'd do would be turn me in, and you'd get off on doing it, too."

Cordelia lowered the poker slightly. "Go on."

"I'm on my way back to Sunnydale. I just need one night, and … well, I have more than a few apologies to make. Figured I should get started while I have chance, because Sunnydale isn't exactly the safest place on earth to be."

"Apologies?"

"Yeah. I'm … I *was* an evil bitch. Not gonna argue with you there, but I know now that I shouldn't have done half the things I did in Sunnydale. People were nice to me and all I did was screw them over - but I just couldn't handle the way everyone would do *anything* for Buffy and follow her orders to the letter. How come I was expected to follow her orders too, when I was just as powerful as her?" Faith glanced around her. "You think we could do this inside?"

"I still haven't heard an apology."

"I'm sorry, Cordelia, alright? I'm sorry I beat you up, I'm sorry for whatever else I did that hurt you, okay?" Faith smiled a little. "Wow. That really does get easier to say when you've been practising."

Cordy stepped back and opened the door wider to let Faith enter the apartment. Placing the poker back in its place, she sat back down on the couch, indicating for Faith to sit next to her. This was the first time she'd ever seen remorse on Faith, thanks to her fleeing like a big chicken the last time the Slayer been in the area.

"You can stay for one night. But if I turn on my TV in the morning to find out I've been harbouring an escaped convict, there'll be hell to pay."

"And boy do I believe that!"

Cordelia laughed. "Can I get you anything? Angel went back to Sunnydale with Willow a couple of weeks back, so I have some beer in the refrigerator that I got for Wes."

"Will he be coming over tonight?" Faith asked, a little nervously. As well as owing him an apology, she pretty much had to thank him for saving her life.

"No, not tonight. Although now you're here, I kinda wish he was - strength in numbers, and everything."

"Cordelia! I'm not going to attack you!"

"Well you'd hardly tell me even if you were!"

Cordelia retrieved a beer for Faith, and settled back down on the couch.

"So how come the Council knew about Buffy dying? I mean, Willow told us that it was strictly in confidence, nobody was to know. The Hellmouth unguarded? It's hardly fun at the best of times, never mind with all the demons ever taking the place over. Plus, they didn't want Dawn being taken away."

"Hell, I forgot all about Dawn. I heard about Joyce … poor kid's all alone now. I know how that feels." She looked up at Cordy. "And have you ever tried to keep anything from the Council? I swear those guys are psychic or something."

The two girls lapsed into silence, Faith thinking about Dawn, and Cordelia wondering if Faith would have turned out a little better and less criminal if they'd spent just a little time getting to know her.

"Faith?"

"Yeah?"

"I want to talk about you. Tell me about yourself."

"Jeez, you're really desperate to punish me, aren't you?" She smiled at Cordelia, who laughed.

"I just want to know! None of us know anything about you."

Faith's face turned serious. "You ever wonder if there was a reason for that?"

"Honestly? No. Never really thought about it. But I'm giving you a place to stay for the night; which, seeing as you didn't offer to pay, I'm guessing you weren't planning to try - so you gotta give me something here!"

Faith nodded, and took a swig of her beer. "Well, I grew up in Boston, my Mom was killed by Kakistos - not that she was exactly the world's best mom to begin with - and then he killed my watcher. I came to Sunnydale, and you know the rest. Now let's talk about you."

"Oh, no you don't." Cordy shook her head. "Back to you. How about your Dad?"

"He left when I was little." She placed her beer down on the table next to her, and turned back to Cordy. "You know, what I'd really rather be doing is this." As she spoke, she leaned in towards Cordelia and placed her hands round the back of the elder girl's neck. Their lips connected and Faith thrust her tongue into Cordelia's mouth, taking advantage of Cordelia's complete shock to explore the opening. As Cordy's body relaxed, she began to return the sentiment, moving her own tongue expertly around Faith's mouth.

Cordelia pulled away, her breathing heavy and her eyes wide. "Okay," she gasped. "If I were to say that was completely out of the blue, it would be the understatement of the … well … forever."

Faith shrugged. "You're the first person that's really wanted to know about me since my watcher died. There have been people who've asked out of politeness, and people who I've just shoved tales onto whether they wanted to know or not. But you actually wanted to know." She glanced back at Cordelia, almost nervously. "Plus you looked cute sitting there like that. And I can't pay you anything for letting me stay, but I figured that maybe I could give you a little happy. No offence, but you look like you could use it."

"It's payment?" Cordelia frowned. "And suddenly feeling like a hooker."

"No!" Faith exclaimed, a pained look on her face. "Not payment … just … some fun. Come on, Cor. I wouldn't believe you if you told me you didn't enjoy that."

Cordelia smiled wickedly. "You're right. I would be lying." Leaning back on the couch, she began to slowly and seductively unbutton her shirt. Faith watched Cordelia's slender fingers moving unbelievably slowly, revealing a little more flesh each time. Kicking off her shoes and tearing off her jacket before she went crazy, Faith leant over Cordelia, her arms either side of Cordy's body and her legs covering Cordelia's.

Leaning in for another kiss, Faith slipped her one hand under the half-undone shirt and unfastened the remaining buttons with the other. Cordelia moaned, her eyes closed in delight, and Faith smiled. Moving her cool fingers round Cordy's back, she expertly unhooked the black bra, throwing it and the shirt to the side. Pulling back slightly, Faith began to slowly trail the kisses down Cordelia's neck, in between her breasts and down onto her bare stomach.

Deliberately ignoring Cordy's breasts, making her go almost crazy, Faith rubbed her legs against Cordelia's, making the other girl feel painfully restricted in her jeans. As Cordelia let out a series of moans, Faith carefully undid Cordy's jeans, yanking them and her panties off, and discarding them as she had the shirt and bra. Quickly stripping off herself, she kept running her fingers along the inside of Cordelia's thighs, making her groan in delight.

Slipping her knee in between Cordy's legs, Faith turned her attention to Cordelia's breasts, before the elder girl lost it completely. Trailing her fingers from Cordy's thigh up to her left breast, Faith began to massage it, taking the other nipple in her mouth. She smiled as Cordy wriggled slightly, smiling, and grasped Faith's own breasts in her hands, partly so she didn't feel Faith was doing all of the work, and partly because she wanted to. Her first time with a woman, and she was going to take everything out of this that she could.

Her breathing heavy, Cordelia closed her eyes and arched into Faith, as the younger girl abandoned Cordy's breasts and slid down her body, slipping her tongue into Cordelia's clit with barely a second's hesitation, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Cordy let out a shocked gasp at the sensation, and then relaxed back into the couch as Faith pleasured her opening with little licks and kisses that could make a girl insane. Those little licks and kisses almost did make Cordelia insane, and just as Cordy could feel her orgasm building, Faith pulled away and Cordelia began to fall away from the edge.

"Faith," she moaned, barely coherent. "Finish it."

Faith cocked her head to one side and stared at Cordelia. She could feel her own orgasm closing in, just from seeing Cordelia so close to hers. She lowered her head again, and Cordy shuddered in anticipation. Gripping Faith's shoulders tightly, she screamed with delight as Faith licked a path along her clit, arriving at her aching centre with a satisfaction, before reaching her own climax. The two girls screamed out in delight, each one getting off on the other's pleasure, before Faith finally collapsed onto Cordelia. In her exhausted state, Cordy briefly wondered what Dennis had thought of the show that they'd put on for him, before her brain stopped producing coherent thoughts.

After what seemed like an eternity, Faith pushed herself up and stared down into Cordelia's face, smiling.

"My turn," she grinned. "You up to the challenge?" Cordelia smiled back.

"I was going to tell you you're sleeping on the couch tonight - but maybe we could give this a go in my bed?" Standing up, she grabbed Faith's hand and pulled her towards the bedroom. "Customer satisfaction is my middle name."
